If you’re under the age of 18, you are eligible to take your DHSMV Drug and Alcohol Test Florida Permit online. That’s great news, because, that means you get to take your exam in an environment you’re comfortable in, and you won’t have to deal with the stress of trying to concentrate at the DHSMV office.
What’s the Learner’s License Exam Like?
When you finish taking your First Time Driver Course, you will be ready to take your online learner’s license exam. The learner’s license exam is made up of two written tests:
- Rules of the Road – You’re required to answer 15 of the 20 questions correct to pass
- Road Signs – You’re required to answer 15 of the 20 questions correct to pass
You will have 3 attempts to pass your exam online. If you pass one section and fail the other, you will only have to re-take the section you failed. After 3 attempts, you will be required to take the exam at the DHSMV. Each time you fail, you must pay a fee to re-take the exam.
What Happens Next?
When you pass your online learner’s license exam, you will be given a waiver to take to the DHSMV so you can get your learner’s license. When you get there, you’ll need to:
- Show a primary form of identification
- Show a secondary form of identification and
- Show proof of your Social Security number
- Take a vision test
